- Have you seen a race car pit crew in action. Each person has a particular role, skill, and place to be. They practice various scenarios to provide a solution as quickly as possible, usually timed in seconds. A high performing team needs the same teamwork. They need to be able to handle the velocity of the work. They need to be able to connect at warp speed. Connecting with others on your team is essential. One reason is because you never see a one person pit crew. We need each other. We need the expanded knowledge, skills, and expertise of each person. Each person on the pit crew is recruited for their skill and knowledge. You may not be able to recruit your own team at work, but you can intentionally build powerful relational networks.
