Building trust

- I have two rescue dogs, A 90-pound boxer and a nine-pound terrier. At first, to watch them play together was a little scary. Sometimes my big guy doesn't know his own strength, and of course my little dog is fearless. But over time, they've learned each other's quirks and limits, they're really comfortable together, it's pretty cute. Teams have to go through a similar process of learning about one another before they can relax and do their best work. We define trust as a willingness to be vulnerable. When we trust, we feel safe and accepted, people become predictable to us, we know we can rely on them. That's why activities where people physically take care of each other build trust. So pair people up, have one put on a blindfold. Their partner glides them through an obstacle course, this can be simple, just boxes on the floor of a room.
