- A number of years ago I read a book by a Mackenzie Parker and it basically stated that all companies have boards of directors so why shouldn't women have boards of directors? For that matter probably men as well. And I took that notion very very seriously and thought to myself that's really interesting. And so I started to think about well who would be on my board? And when you're younger in your career you may not have 10 or 12 people that you can turn to that can offer you objective advice about your career or key decisions that you need to make along the way. But for me I found this to be incredibly important because I've assembled people now from all different walks of my life that have been connected to me in some way shape or form in the industry. They get together, not in one big table with an agenda and have a meeting about Caroline Everson, but they will get together with me whenever I need them.
