- When it comes to social events, neurodivergent workers can feel a lot of anxiety. Social environments can be too distracting. Making others feel that the neurodivergent individual lacks interest in the conversation. Too often, these behaviors are misinterpreted. I want to introduce you to my friend, Burnett Grant, to share their experiences with socializing at work. Burnett is an autistic person who also experiences ADHD and dysgraphia. They discovered their neurodivergence while working as a caregiver for autistic individuals in their early twenties. When the client's behavior made more sense to them, then their neuro-typical coworkers. They now work in flavor chemistry.
