It's increasingly relevant as the use of technology enables organizations to gather huge amounts of information. Data of any type is important for accounting. Accounts must understand and leverage the technology required to gather data and have the capability to convert it into relevant financial information that companies can use to their advantage. Additionally, accounts must know how to accumulate and assimilate this data to determine potential costs and profitability impact for the company.
