- As you move up the five levels of leadership, the scope of your work expands and the stakes get higher, and the proportion of management and leadership shifts. Individual contributors have the narrowest scope, focusing mainly on their specific tasks and others with whom they interact. Whereas the leader of the entire organization has the broadest scope. Not only looking across the whole organization but outside to the industry, market and other influencing factors such as the economy and global affairs. The shift in scope is what transparency is all about. The more you can share the view from your level, the more you can harness the contributions of those below you in the organization. The second thing that shifts is that the stakes get higher.
