- My friend Theresa was telling me how easy it used to be. Everyone was in the building, all she had to do was talk to people or maybe have a meeting, but now she's got more technology tools than she can count. The question is how do we actually decide how to communicate with people? First, richness. Richness is about the full message. We communicate with our words, with how we say it, and how we look. The richest communication is face-to-face, but when we're remote, we don't always have that option. The second factor is scope. And scope talks to how scalable the communication is. When everyone's together, we don't have to worry about that. We just put everyone in the conference room and tell 'em, and we've scaled the conversation.
