Conducting a change landscape assessment
From the course: Change Leadership
Conducting a change landscape assessment
- Sudden change calls for sudden action, right? Yes, if it's the right action. That's what we'll look at, the first action to take as a leader facing sudden change. Too often, leaders rush into activity, which is entirely understandable, but they do so without first pausing to really understand the environment that change has created. This can be done by conducting a five question change landscape assessment. Questions you can ask to fully understand the situation at hand. Refer to this video's exercise file for an example. The assessment was completed by a client after COVID-19 suddenly forced her organization to work remotely, as has happened to many of us, right? Let's go through the assessment's five questions, starting with the most basic one. What's your role in leading the way forward? Are you the person who's solely responsible or are you on a decision-making team? Should you be executing someone else's plan?…
