- Psychological safety is so crucial to our team's success. Empathy is a powerful vehicle for a team to have high-performance amongst each other. There are three distinct practices I want to give you that you can start using immediately that will make a massive difference in your team's commitment to each other. One is called a sweet and sour. A sweet and sour is which you would use at the beginning of any meeting, which is fairly short form. It takes 30 seconds, no more than a minute per person, going around asking people what's going on right now that sweet and sour, because people are dredging up things that are going on that might've been welling up for quite some time. For instance, I might say my sweet is that I get to spend so much time with my kids these days. My sour is that I'm really worried about my mom who lives across the country, and she's got a respiratory problem. And I'm very concerned about how COVID…
