Learn how to propose data creation when it does not exist. You don't have to just accept the data that exists, sometimes, you can create what you need.
- There's a saying about warfare, "That you go to battle with the army you have, and not necessarily with the army you want." The same is true with data analysis. You're analyzing the data you have, but maybe you wish you had other data. You don't have it now, but you could in the future. And the solution is start creating the data series today. I've created multiple data series, and I recommend that over time if you do this, you'll find there are important implications for future models. Again, that might not help what your analysis shows now, but as you iterate on your data, this will help you improve your modeling and forecasting and any implications you derive from your data. So, if you find yourself in a position where you're thinking about modeling and you wish you had something else, find a way to create that data because in the future you'll be happy you did.
