- [Narrator] QuickBooks knows that some sales reps can be employees of your company or outside consultants. You can set up your sales reps to be either employees or vendors. Before you create sales reps, they should first be set up as either an employee or a vendor. Though I show you how you can create a brand new one later on. So before you even start setting up your sales reps, the first step should be inputting them all into QuickBooks as either one of those things, a vendor or an employee. When you know you've got them all in there, from the top menu choose lists. Hover your mouse over customer and vendor profile lists, and now choose sales rep list. In this screen to create a new one, click sales rep at the bottom of the screen and choose new. Click the drop-down next to sales rep name.
