- Ideally, you're not just throwing your employees into the deep end when they join your team. There are four broad categories to consider as you welcome your new hire. First, there's the company level, company culture, processes and anything else that's crucial for them to know about the organization as a whole. Be sure to cover the major knowledge centers and communication tools, as well as any product or division acronyms or terminology that your organization uses. And of course, technology, whether that's hardware they're going to be setting up or key software, such as internal tools that they'll need to learn how to use. The second category is your team. Consider your particular team's culture, how things operate and your work style as their manager. Layer in any team-specific technologies or processes here as well.
