- There's a really easy hack to networking that avoids all the awkwardness of standing around 50 people you don't know. Here it is. Find the people you want to network with, and build a little dinner club around it. This is an easy way for you to curate a list of people who have careers or businesses that correlate with each other, and make networking more intimate. Here's how to do it. Pick a couple of your colleagues in your industry and work up a list of 20 to 25 people you know who would have a good reason to hang out together on a business level. If you're a business owner, this may mean finding other business owners in various fields. If you're a software engineer with a job, this may mean finding people who are developers with jobs, freelancers, but also the type of people who work in the space, such as project managers, designers, and people with side projects in your space.
