Cultivate gratitude
- A few years ago, I started a gratitude journal with a goal: list 10,000 things that I'm thankful for. At first, I was pretty consistent, listing three things a day. Then, after a few months, I set the journal down, and I didn't pick it back up. A few more months passed, and I started again, a pattern that's continued to today. As I reflect on my own on again-off again adoption of the gratitude journal, I can say with confidence that I am more grounded, more fun to be around, and more productive when I keep the journal. Intentionally practicing gratitude has been very good for me. It's a habit I find so valuable I've tried to instill it in my children. Flexing your gratitude muscles is going to impact your attitude.
