- [Narrator] I had a recent experience that really highlights an important aspect of customer service. So I have a recently single friend, and she asked me to help her fill out the personal information on a popular dating app. She was struggling with describing herself. I helped her for a bit, helping her describe herself, what she's into, and what she's looking for. But as we worked on it, we realized that although I thought I knew almost everything about my friend, there were several things I was totally wrong about. This happens a lot in customer service as well. You may think you know your customer, what they like, how they prefer to be communicated with, where they live, but oftentimes, we can be dead wrong. It's critical that you work to understand as much as you can about your customers, so you can serve them well.
