Defining sales anxiety

- Sales anxiety is a common problem. Don't beat yourself up if you get it. Sales is a demanding career, that asks a lot from you, mentally and physically. You have external pressures, like your sales target, competition from colleagues, or your own rent, bills, and lifestyle costs that are directly affected by your performance. And then you also have internal pressures, like fear of rejection, your own competitiveness with those colleagues, and a yearning for success that salespeople seem to have much more than most. So all of these internal and external pressures can contribute to sales anxiety. It's something generally associated with people who are new or inexperienced, or who suffer from social anxiety. But if something a lot of salespeople, even the experienced ones, sometimes get before they make cold calls, or they go to meetings, or they attend networking events, or they enter a variety of sales…
