Disappointment is taking score too soon
- You may have heard it said that disappointment is just taking score too soon. Believing that you're a failure is just taking score too soon. And if you haven't heard it before, go ahead and take this moment to write it down 'cause it's a really helpful thought. And you know, it's true. You've had that experience yourself where it seems like you got rejected and there's a failure, but then you find out later that, wow, did you dodge a bullet. Or it turns out that you didn't get the thing that you wanted, but something much, much better was happening. So rejection can turn out to be a form of protection, right? When you get rejected, one of the key elements is patience. You need to take a longer term view of the situation, and understanding that this is not a permanent condition.
