- Offering some kind of sale is perhaps the most effective, not-so-secret weapon you have in your side hustle arsenal. This doesn't mean you need to slash your prices or give away the store for free. It just means you need to encourage people to buy now, not later, not I'll think about it. Or I'll look at it when my paycheck comes in. Or I'll talk about it with my partner. Now. There's more than one way to use special offers to get people excited about it, but most of them involve creating a sense that A, this is special. And B, it won't be around forever. So let's talk about some of the promotions that you've probably seen. I'll go quickly here, and then we'll come back at the end with some examples. Discount, a percentage or a dollar amount off the regular price. Flash sale or fire sale, a temporary, widespread price reduction. Rebate, a discount provided after purchase. Buy one, get one, like buy one, get one…
