- We all want to raise the bar and be our best selves. Of course. And yet, in order to do that, we also have to do something that's quite painful: admit we're not perfect right now. In theory, we're all open to feedback. Yeah, bring it on. I always want to improve. But actually receiving critical feedback can be upsetting. A few weeks ago, I got an email from a client with the headline "Feedback," and my heart immediately started racing, even before I read a word of it, because for many of us, consciously or unconsciously, feedback means, "Here's what you're doing wrong." So how can we hope to grow and get better with baggage like that?
