- The workplace environment interacts with all our senses, impacting our ability to accomplish tasks and even sometimes feel comfortable in our own skin. It's possible you have a number of employees who are neurodivergent and might suffer from sensory integration. Sensory integration occurs when your senses do not provide appropriate responses to the inputs from the environment. It's a neurological condition that interferes with the body's ability to interpret sensory messages from the brain and convert those messages into appropriate motor and behavioral responses. So many neurodivergent employees take in too much information or not enough. To help your company's employees manage their sensory integration, there are a couple of things you can consider.
