- The workplace environment interacts with all our senses, impacting our ability to accomplish tasks and even sometimes feel comfortable in our own skin. It's possible you have a number of employees who are neurodivergent and might suffer from sensory integration. Sensory integration occurs when your senses do not provide appropriate responses to the inputs from the environment. It's a neurological condition that interferes with the body's ability to interpret sensory messages from the brain and convert those messages into appropriate motor and behavioral responses.
