Establishing an effective communication cadence
- Successful global teams have a rhythm or heartbeat of communication that meets the needs of the task and the needs and preferences of the people in the team. And of course, this will be mainly delivered through communications technology. Getting this rhythm right will accelerate delivery of results and build the team faster. The tasks you're working on together will largely define the frequency of communication you need. Two factors, interdependence and pace will define the cadence of communication required to deliver the task. If you're working relatively independently and only coordinating your work from time to time, you'll need less communication than if you're working intensively and collaboratively on a shared problem.
