Establishing work from home policies

- Whether your organization has been working from home for years or you're just starting out, it's important to have a set of policy or guidelines to make sure everybody's on the same page. And this should all be part of your continuity plan to make sure your business can stay operational regardless of what gets thrown your way. Things like weather events or climate change or a global pandemic. Or maybe you just want to have some sort of flexibility in how individuals can operate. Hi, my name's Mike Gutman, and I've been working remotely for over 10 years, and I've got insights into the way companies like IBM or FlexJobs or Dell or Johns Hopkins have been operating remote teams. And the whole goal of a policy is to make sure that you create some structure as circumstances change because you want to take away any uncertainty the employees might have as they're working from home, which might be a new style of working for them. And as long as you're getting a policy out the door that can evolve over time, you're making sure that everybody's expectations are set and you're set up for success.
