Evolving your brand

- Your brand is an asset, so from time to time you'll need to evaluate it. What are you trying to do with your business? Is making money number one, or do you want to be famous as a thought leader? Or, do you want to make an impact on a particular population or issue? If what you want to do next is really different from what you've prioritized before, it might be time to rethink your brand. The great thing about consulting brands is that they're malleable. You can change them in small ways or through a complete overhaul. When I launched my original brand, Peninsula Strategies, my goal was to make a living doing marketing-driven strategy work, ideally close to my home on the San Francisco Peninsula. I had small kids and my husband had a big job, so I had limited time and was not willing to travel.
