- For a very long time, I didn't know what profession it was that I wanted to do with the rest of my life. But I knew what my passions were and I knew that I wanted to do something that I can use to give back to my community. So I started to look into criminal justice reform. And with that, I still didn't know what profession it was that I wanted to have. So I started to get connected with lawyers: current lawyers, past lawyers, judges, people who work on reform projects, people in the justice system, you name it. And I know you may be thinking, "How did she get connected with all of these amazing people?" But the answer is, I looked within my personal network. Always start within your personal network: your friends, your family, your teachers, advisors, mentors, they are all right in front of you, and they also get connected with many other people, a network that you are still assessable to look within.
