- So if you're a buyer, you're bound to negotiate. People expect you to negotiate. It's really what your job is. So I think it's unlikely that you're going to forget to negotiate or decide not to. But there is a situation where I think buyers could negotiate a lot more and that's when they get quotes. So if you get a quote in, you could still negotiate with the quote. You can say, "Thanks very much for that quote, but it's a bit higher than we can afford." And I think it's really interesting to think about when you have three quotes. Quite often people get three and they take the middle one. And I'm thinking you could negotiate with all three of those. So the quote that's really high, you love that quality probably but you can't afford them. Why not say to them, "I love your quality, if you could come down in price a bit, we would give you the order." And if you could get them down to the middle quote, then you can…
