- You'd be amazed at how effective Facebook has become as a tool for connecting to people as business associates. When I make real life connections with people, I check to see if they're active on Facebook as a business person. Are they members of industry groups? If so, then they're probably open to connecting on Facebook. Also, I look at the groups that they're a part of to see if it might be a group I want to join.
