Finding meaning in the chaos
- Whatever combination of working from home and caring for your children that you're dealing with, this is not what you expected, this isn't what you planned, and probably, not what you ever would have chosen. But psychological research shows that we cope best with challenging situations by finding some sense of meaning in it, and that can lead to a greater sense of fulfillment over time. When life feels out of our control, there are two things that we can do to help us find meaning, engage with the small moments, and connect with our values. Times of crisis may make us miss the everyday, the soccer games, the birthday parties, the trips to the beach. There may be a lot that feels that it was taken away from you.
