From the course: 21 Opportunities for Better Networking
Formal groups
- There are a number of formal networking groups where you can join by either paying a fee or simply attending events that are hosted and open to new potential members. To name a few, 6 degrees, Vistage, EO, short for Entrepreneur Organization, BNI, the Business Network International, YEC or the Young Entrepreneurs Council, YPO, the Young Presidents Organization. And you can look for industry specific organizations too, whether you're a UX engineer, an accountant, a project manager, or work in human resources. Look for formal groups in your field as well as broader formal groups that are intended as networks. Here's a pro tip. Create your own networking group. Start with a mastermind and have everyone in your mastermind invite five to 10 people to a larger meetup that you lead.
