- Generosity is, in my view, the core root of happiness. And the reason why I deeply believe that is that the more generous you are to other people, the actual more you benefit in terms of overall and personal happiness. Now, not everyone believes this, and there are people that I think are probably a little bit more self-oriented or self-centered than maybe they would like to be. But what I have tried to do with the people that I have surrounded myself with and the time that I allocate to things is to be very generous. And I have gained so much around that. So whether it be time or spirit or even how I think about giving back to community. And it's a value that I've instilled deeply in my twin daughters who are turning 15. I have taught them at a very early age, where starting at age five, they did not get birthday presents when they had birthday parties. Instead, they raised money for charities.
