Get real with expectations
- There's a great equation that goes, if E is greater than R, then R equals D. In other words, if your expectations are greater than your reality, then your reality will always lead to disappointment. Let that sink in. Unrealistic expectations of yourself and others can only stifle talent and progress. I want to help you lead with conscious expectations so for this lesson, I want to give you some exercises for how you can get out of disappointment, be present and lead with confidence. To start, you must be present in your reality. For instance, when I was an HR assistant I applied for leadership roles I believed I was qualified for, but in reality, I just wasn't ready. I mean, I literally set myself up for disappointment. Don't let this be you. Be conscious of where you are now and how you can better prepare for your goals. These steps will positively guide you in the right direction. Next, don't be overzealous, time…
