- Study after study shows that companies with better than average diversity are more innovative and outperform their less diverse counterparts by between 15 and 35%. So with all these great stats, why are we still seeing companies with little to no cultural diversity, especially in leadership positions, and people facing discrimination and lack of opportunities in the workforce? Two words, hidden bias. Biases have been studied for years and they're a part of our cognitive makeup. Most of the time, we don't even realize that we have them.
