Great coaching makes great teams

- When I was first getting into the restaurant business years ago, the first woman who trained me how to lead from behind approach, she would work with me to create goals, suggest a path to success, and then let me go execute on my own. I knew she was there when I needed her, and she always guided me back on track when I started to stray. She had a hands-off approach and it made her a really great coach. Good coaching makes everything easier. When you coach well, it leads your team to self-efficacy, you foster teams full of accountability and ownership, you empower people to lead from within, and effectively manage their own goals and pursuits. When you coach well, you actually have to manage less. My name is Eric Zackrison. I'm a professor, consultant, and I've managed and owned businesses for nearly 30 years. And I can tell you from experience, the most effective teams are the ones who are led by effective coaches. In this course, I'm going to teach you how to modify your management style to become a better coach to create stronger teams. I'll show you how to assess your team's real strengths, identify and address team and skills gaps, and offer methods for how to create a supportive climate that fosters collaboration and growth. I'll give you a framework for how to set measurable, realistic goals, and offer strategies for prioritizing and tracking progress. I'll walk you through how to set up a successful coaching session and give you a process for setting milestones and check-ins. Good coaches lead their employees to empowerment, and it's not something you give them, rather it's something you inspire within them. So join me as I break down the virtues of coaching and the tenets of team inspiration. Let's get started.
