Happiness and well-being in the workplace matters

- As a manager, your job is to make sure your people are working to the best of their potential. But the reality is that everyone's human, and from time to time the wellbeing of your employees can take a turn for the worst. It's in these moments that you'll have to call on a whole toolkit of emotional and social skills to provide the support that can help an employee back on the road to productivity. Although wellbeing is something that's previously been considered as an add-on to managerial or organizational duties, an optional program for employees to sign up to even. Wellbeing is so much more than that. This is because the wellbeing of your people is directly correlated with the performance and satisfaction at work. And although much of the emphasis in the past has been on physical health, wellbeing is equally, if not more, important, affecting employee engagement, productivity, and retention. As a manager, you play a critical role in helping to promote wellbeing and reduce stress, and therefore are integral to ensuring the happiness, wellbeing, and productivity of your employees, both now and for the future.
