- One of the most important elements that can contribute to the success of leading a data project is making sure you have a plan. This includes identifying what the deliverables will be, what the deadlines are, who the stakeholders are, and most importantly, how your team is going to communicate these different things to each other and what their status is on different deliverables. It's not enough to just know what it is and put it aside. It should be something that's iterative and accessible to your entire team. There are a number of different tools that you can use to keep track of where your team is and what the deliverable statuses are. Some people use Gantt charts.
