Hiring freezes
- Sometimes, when an economy softens or a business is struggling, they'll implement hiring freezes. As a business leader looking to hire new people, this can be a really big risk and it means you need to make sure to try to lose as few people as possible. Because when a hiring freeze is on, if some of your staff leave the company, you might not be able to replace them. As a leader looking to move up the ladder, you should also realize that this will slow your career progression. And if this is something just going on at your company, you might want to look around at other companies because if they don't have hiring freezes you'll have a chance to move up somewhere else rather than waiting for the thaw at your own company.
