- [Dorie] We all know setting goals is important but it can feel impossible to do when everything feels like it should be at the top of the list. I'm Dorie Clark and I teach for Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and I'm the author of "Reinventing You" and "Stand out." I struggle with this problem, myself. Sometimes the challenge is that we're taking on everyone else's to-do list so there's not enough time for our own goals. Sometimes we just have too many things we want or need to do. But whatever the situation, here's the reality. We have to be willing to make hard decisions or we won't make progress on anything. But when you learn to make those tough calls and prioritize correctly, you'll become far more effective at work and in life.
