- In-person performance reviews can make us lazy. What do I mean by that? It means it's easy to confuse being around someone a lot in the same physical space with having an accurate understanding of their work performance. Sure, you have more opportunities in a shared physical space. You also get to have all this in between and unplanned moments, but the lack of intentionality here can actually hurt us if we don't regularly check in on our process. That's why I think virtual performance reviews can really force a reinvention of not just a review, but the way managers manage. So what does this look like? How do we assess performance virtually?
