How to film B-roll

- When I'm running video training sessions, I don't just play with childish things like paper planes, I also play with childish things like the Rubik's Cube. I find it's the perfect way of explaining B-roll and how you can get more than one shot. I used to actually be quite good at these. It seems to elude me now though. Anyway, how are you, you all right? Really? You want to a little bit more, don't you? It might be a while since you've seen one of these. You want to a closer look, you want to add a bit more texture and detail to what you're seeing here and we can do that with a close-up. Of course, a little visual detour for the audience, giving them information they subconsciously crave and because this is building on our main footage, we call this B-roll. Now then, did you notice how we changed shots just then? We cut because in the real world, our mind gives us cuts. If I was to look at the camera, then this…
