How to identify key stakeholders

- If developing a strategy is a team effort, then who should be on the team? Well, the short answer is the key people involved in approving the strategy, funding its implementation or executing it. That is of course, in addition to any other folks with relevant insights who should feed into the process. So let's have a closer look at who these stakeholders are. We'll start with decision makers. Usually there would be a CEO or a general manager who runs the company or business unit as a whole. They may require you to officially get their approval for your proposed strategy. But even if they don't, you should always aim to gain their support. You'll need it soon enough. Decision-makers often rely on others in their inner circle to help inform their decisions.
