- Congratulations, your hard work has paid off and you're promoted. How does it feel to be in charge? You're excited, but it's nerve wracking too. Your promotion says you're a talented, hard working contributor. Now you'll transition to your new role. What will change? Will your former coworkers accept you as their boss? What if someone performs badly? What if they question your authority? I'm Dr. Carolyn Goerner. For 30 years I've consulted with large and small organizations to develop effective leaders. As a college professor I've coached dozens of former students through this transition. In this course you'll see your work group in a new way. We'll explore how your role is changing and new situations you'll encounter. I'll offer suggestions for shifting to a manager's mindset, and managing the job transition process. So again, congratulations. You're starting an exciting and challenging journey. I'll look forward to navigating the transition with you throughout this course.
