- I get asked quite often by people who've taken my courses about the importance of qualifications, particularly project management for some people. They say, "Should I get PMP, or Prince, or whatever it is?" And my feeling about qualifications is they're worth a bit, but they're not as good as experience. What most people really want is experience, rather than qualifications and we probably all know somebody who's got a degree or an MBA and is totally useless. So, you can have a qualification and still be useless. I'm not saying that everyone with a qualification is useless, obviously, but what I'm saying is a qualification, in itself, isn't enough. So, evidence of experience is best and if you can get evidence of experience, that's really good. So if you've been running a project, just keep a little portfolio going, just keep copies of the Gantt chart, and cost forms, and all the little things that you use so that…
