Like the ethical hacker, who also happens to be a high school student, who earns $110,000 from helping companies spot vulnerabilities in their computer code. Or a pair of teachers in New York and Connecticut who teamed up to create one tote bag to rule them all, earning six figures. Or the Texas father of four who started marimba rental business when his son joins the high school band. This side business now brings in more than $3000 dollars a month, mostly passively. All of these high earning projects came about when someone followed their curiosity and asked, what if I could get paid for that? In fact, one of the most valuable skills you can learn in life is the art of identifying profitable ideas. This begins with a mindset of being curious. You probably weren't taught in school how to be curious. You didn't have a curious class or accelerated curiosity program. But it's something that anyone can develop. One way to think of it is that curiosity is like asking, what if, wherever you go. In the side hustle world we'll adapt this question to what if you could get paid for and then filling in the blank. The key is to find the right opportunity for you. Now don't worry, I'm not going to ask you to learn to be a coder if you're not one or to go out and buy up a bunch of band instruments. By exploring your curiosity and asking those what if questions, you'll learn to spot the best possible opportunities for you. Now that's your challenge in fact. Look around and spot at least three ideas right now. If you get stuck, don't worry. Practice asking what if you could get paid and fill in the blank. Don't judge your first ideas. Soon your curiosity will reveal ideas with potential. Your curiosity might lead to ideas like an interest in food trucks led to a side hustle helping others launch food trucks. A hunt for the perfect engagement ring transitioned into a unique affiliate side hustle. Or a graphic designer with an affinity for dogs who developed a side hustle designing logos for only pet related businesses. All true stories. And it all starts with, what if you could get paid for that?
