- Okay, so you've identified the training need. You've created a comprehensive project plan that's been approved by your stakeholders. The next stage in preparing a learning solution is to gather the material that's already been created around the issue that you're addressing. And when I say "all," I mean everything you can get your greedy little hands on. You always want to work from a breadth of material. Here are the core items you should ask stakeholders for. Existing documentation. This is usually written stuff that fact sheets, handbooks, job aids. Most of these items will be in an electronic format, but don't turn your nose up at paper assets. You'll want to ask about notes from previous discussions on the topic. It's likely that smart people have already talked about the issues that you're building training around.
