- Someone once said, "Values are like fingerprints. Nobody's are the same, but you leave them all over everything you do. For excellent customer service to exist, the successful joining of corporate values and employee values has to occur. Values are a combination of our beliefs, perceptions, and ideas about the appropriate response to a situation. Both individuals and companies have their own specific set of values. Companies must effectively communicate to their employees what their values are. Stated corporate values are most commonly conveyed to employees through written information, employee manuals, and policy statements. To customers, they're relayed through return policies, response to day-to-day interactions, and maybe even their position on a social issue.
