From the course: Inspirational Leadership Skills: Practical Motivational Leadership

Introduction

- In this next section, we're going to look at the top two layers of Maslow's hierarchy. We're going to look at making people feel important and then giving them interesting work so that they really can feel that the job they're doing is worth while, they can get a sense of self fulfillment. So that's really the icing on the cake. Once somebody's secure, we can then move on to growth and achievement and all the really great stuff that a person should be doing at work. In a way, this is the positive side of motivation, and whereas security is a hygiene factor, it's just got to be there, and doing more of it is not going to get you anymore output, these things are unlimited. So the more important a person feels, and the more exciting and fascinating and rewarding their work is, the more you'll get from them. There's no limit to this next section. So, let's have a look at those two areas now.
