- I know firsthand, as a founder, that getting a pass from an investor is difficult. You've put in a lot of time researching and prepping for your meeting, and the investor has just informed you that it's not a great fit for the firm. It's never easy. A few things to remember. You're going to hear a lot of "Nos," but also be aware that it's hard to tell founders who are really passionate about their businesses "No," and it takes time to give you feedback and inform you that we've passed. With that in mind, it's all about being respectful of time and of resources. You want to respond to their pass promptly and authentically. It's natural when you've been pitching a lot of investors for you to be short on time because you're still trying to raise money. You want to interact even if they've turned you down.
