- [Presenter] Job crafting is a term used by psychologists to describe how employees can redesign their job to make it more meaningful to them. Traditionally, we thought of job designers the responsibility of the manager. Job crafting turns that on its head in a way that I think has vast implications for engagement at work. It flips this responsibility to the employee, opening up a whole world of possibilities for increased autonomy, creativity, curiosity, collaboration and that holy grail meaning. When working remotely, this is really important because it gives people a way of feeling that they have agency over their road empowering them to get on with what they need to do on their own terms. And if they're missing the office space or feeling disconnected from colleagues, it helps them find engagement and meaning in other ways.
