- Your ability to overcome objections from your hiring managers and candidates will have a great impact on the level of success you achieve. View them as a request for more information rather than an obstacle. Recruiting is a sales process, and as a result, you will often hear objections from both hiring managers and candidates. Some objections could simply be a timing issue that could be resolved. If they are still talking to you, there is a good chance you can overcome the objection to obtain your desired results. There is only one objection you can't overcome, and that is total silence. It is difficult to provide a response when your prospect has said nothing or hangs up. If they hang up, you can complete your next planned call or do what I do and call them right back and apologize that your call was disconnected.
