- In the future of audit, technology will be an important lever. Of course, technology's always been important for helping auditors get their work done, but in the future, there are many potential areas where this will be helpful. One of the most important is in the areas of testing and sampling transactions. This is an important part of audit but for many auditors, it's impossible to test or sample every single transaction.
