Literacy focus of technical subjects

At this time we've talked about English language arts and mathematics fairly in depth, but what if you teach something that's not one of those two topics? For example, I'm a science teacher. We also have history teachers and social studies teachers. Even resource teachers. Art teachers. What about the Common Core in these topics? Well, there's one thing that all of us share in common, and that is literacy. All of our students are being asked to express themselves through writing in all of these different areas. If we take a look at the English arts standards we can actually find that there's a section on literacy. If I scroll down the page, I can see the literacy is broken into several content areas. There's literacy for history and social studies, as well as science and the technical subjects. Let's go ahead and take a look at how it's broken down.
